Mystery of the Crucifixion of Jesus - Its Solution May Unite Abrahamic religions

Elderly Jews of Jesus' time were in fact a very bad state. They had been invaded by the Romans, who destroyed their sacred places, humiliated and occupied Jerusalem and appointed a governor to rule over them. The morale of the Jewish people of that time was at its lowest point. It was a difficult time for the Jews. They were in abject misery.

They had flashbacks of King David and King Solomon when he had ruled their part of the world. They had lost everything. His consolation was all now in their writings, where had promised arrival of Mashiach or Messiah of the lineage of King David and before the return of Elijah as a prelude to Mashiach Mashiach. They were waiting.

The Scriptures prophesy only provided spiritual and religious reformers, Jews had tied their hopes for him in despair and said he would be a warrior, siding with those who fight with their enemies. Messiah, they believed, would free from the chains of slavery of the Romans and improve their material situation and who would rule their part of the world which had ruled earlier in the time of David and Solomon.

The Jewish people were waiting for the Messiah or what they call Moshiach and according to OT believed that Elijah would descend from the heavens and would open the way for the advent of the Messiah.

When Jesus announced his prophecy of the one God and began to criticize the Jews of the bad practices that had allowed his religious clergy began strongly to the contrary. Significance for Muslims

This is also very important for Muslims. All Muslims do not believe that Jesus (or Essa) died on the cross, or even put him on the cross, there are different interpretations and beliefs among Muslims supposedly based on the Koran or tradition. Resolving this issue could unite the Muslims too.
